The Family Mediation Trust is seeking an experienced and accredited mediator to join our growing team. We are committed to delivering high-quality family mediation services across the UK. We cover a range of mediation services, including Legal Aid delivery and assessment, and we welcome candidates with experience in CIM (Child-Inclusive Mediation) or those willing to gain this qualification.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct mediation sessions focused on resolving family disputes, including child arrangements, financial matters, and property disputes.
  • Provide CIM mediation (if qualified) or work towards qualification, supporting child-inclusive approaches.
  • Work with clients under Legal Aid as well as private clients, assessing eligibility and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Maintain high standards of professional practice in line with FMC guidelines.
  • Collaborate with a highly efficient administrative team, minimizing the need for administrative work and allowing you to focus on clients and mediation.
  • Participate in regular PPC (Professional Practice Consultant) sessions and CPD training to stay up to date with industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal frameworks, including FMC and Legal Aid requirements.

Requirements:
  • Accredited Family Mediator with current registration with the Family Mediation Council (FMC).
  • Strong experience in family mediation, ideally with Legal Aid assessment experience.
  • CIM accreditation is highly desirable, or willingness to become accredited.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive cases involving children, finances, and property.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Legal Aid processes and assessment preferred.
